It's sunny and warm outside... Should we jump in?

Brian James JacobsonIn Loving Memory of Brian James Jacobson, Age 9

This is Brian on his first communion day. Five days later on Friday, 4-30-04, he jumped out of a duck boat into the water to swim to his sister.He did not make it even though he was a good swimmer. We think the cold water paralyzed this wonderful boy - making it impossible for him to swim. We miss you Brian so much.

We want to tell all youngsters in Minnesota to be safe around cold water in the spring and to ask - is this water safe to swim in - is it too cold - please think before you jump into the lake this spring - especially in March, April and May. Remember Brian, his sister, his mom and his dad, and all who loved him. Also, remember this cold water warning.
